Brandon Todd Smith:

Brandon Todd Smith was born in Downers Grove, IL on Sunday, February 7, 1993 to his mother Karen A. Harris (Smith) and his father Vonidor Smith.  He was an only child. Brandon departed this life too early and suddenly on Friday June 23, 2017. He was preceded in death by both his maternal grandparents, Curtis and Pearlie Hicks, as well as his paternal grandparents, Edward "Smitty" and Barbara Jean Smith. His parents relocated to Georgia while he was still an infant. It was there that he grew from a smal child to an amazing adult. Brandon attended Cedar Hill Elementary and Richards Middle School in Lawrenceville, Georgia.  Like most young boys, he loved to play many sports such as soccer and basketball, but his true passion became football. It was in Middle School he began to play football with the Black Knights in the Lawrenceville Youth League where his dad and step father Mikell Harris were both assistant coaches. He loved football and continued to play it through his High School years as middle linebacker for the South Gwinnet Comets. It was also during this time that he developed both a talent and passion for skate boarding. He was good at manuevering and tricks and he had the bumps and bruises to prove it.  Brandon was also a dedicated Boy Scout. He spent many years working towards the rank of Eagle Scout, which contributed to his kind nature, compassion, and intellectual thinking.  He loved camping, archery, and serving his community. Upon graduation High School, Brandon found his true passion in cars. Following in the footsteps of his maternal grandfather Curtis, he was a self-taught master mechanic. He was often reffered to as the car whisper. He loved his job as an auto repair technician at Pep Boys. He dreamed of one day opening a high tech custom precision auto care facility. One of Brandon's  hobbies was gaming which he did in his spare time with his local and international friends and even his mom Karen. Not many people knew that Brandon considered himself to be an avid amateur guitar player who actually taught himself to read musical notes while sitting around just plucking for dad.  Brandon knew in order to have good friends you must first be a good friend. Brandon loved his many friends and was considered reliable by them. He was loved by many and leaves to cherish his memory his loving parents Vonidor and Karen, step father Mikell Harris, his aunts Donna (John) Krawiec, Cynthia Manns, Zorain Carter, Carol Motley, Monalisa Harris, Great Aunts Juanita Hicks, Jewel Compton, Wanda Jackson, Ernestine (Kenny) Williams, Uncles Adam Smith, Scott Smith, Great uncles Nathaniel McClure, and Marvin McClure. A host of loving cousins and cherished friends both in Chicago and Georgia will miss him dearly.
